A Legendary Instrument
The world of music memorabilia witnessed a remarkable event when a custom-made Gibson Les Paul Florentine guitar, once owned by Noel Gallagher of Oasis, was sold at auction for an impressive £226,800. This guitar, often described as “the best in the world,” holds significant value not only for its craftsmanship but also for its connection to one of the biggest bands of the 1990s.
The Story Behind the Sale
Gallagher played this striking silver sparkle guitar extensively while recording Oasis’s third album, Be Here Now, which was released in August 1997. The guitar, produced specifically for him at Gibson’s workshop, has been credited as one of his favorite and most frequently used instruments during his tenure with the band. Auctioned by Propstore, the valued piece had a guided auction price ranging from £200,000 to £400,000, ultimately reaching a confirmed sale price of £226,800.
A Memorable Auction Event
The auction was held over four days and included additional notable memorabilia from the Gallagher brothers. Among the items was a tambourine owned by Liam Gallagher, which fetched £6,300. Following their recent auction success, the Gallagher brothers have announced their upcoming tour in 2025, which has generated considerable excitement among fans, leading to an instant sell-out of tickets for their UK and Ireland concerts.
